Behind the Scenes - Technical Services & Facilities
At Synerlogic, everything revolves around continuity, safety and quality. Behind the scenes, there is one department that plays a crucial role in this every single day: Technical Services & Facilities. From resolving breakdowns (storingen) to driving project-based improvements that help build the factory of the future, the colleagues within this team ensure that our processes continue to run safely, efficiently and in a future‑proof way. Join us for a look behind the scenes at their diverse activities.
Three types of maintenance
Technical Services & Facilities ensures the optimal functioning of our technical installations and processes in three ways:
1. Preventive maintenance
Regular inspections and checks keep our factory reliable and safe. From weekly testing of the sprinkler systems to periodic checks of fire doors. This approach keeps risks low and minimises surprises.
2. Project-based maintenance
Together with the Process Engineering team, Technical Services & Facilities works on improving the site and production lines. They install new machinery, remove obsolete equipment and establish maintenance plans. Sustainability also plays a major role, with projects such as installing LED lighting and implementing heat recovery from compressed air in the factory.
3. Breakdowns
Breakdowns arethe most urgent situations and must be resolved immediately. Each incident is different and requires a fast and targeted response. By conducting structural breakdown analyses, the team continuously works on reducing the number of malfunctions.
Breakdowns or emergencies don’t follow office hours. That is why a Technical Services & Facilities colleague is always on standby outside regular working hours and able to be on site within 30 minutes. This 24/7 availability is essential for our operations.
Key Role in projects and events
Technical Services & Facilities plays an important role in everything we build, improve, and celebrate at Synerlogic. The team made a major contribution to the creation of our new Food Safe Hall; a milestone for our company. They were involved in the technical preparation, the final installations and commissioning of the new equipment.
The same level of dedication is visible during our on‑site events. Whether it’s the Family Festival, the opening of the Food Safe Hall, the annual Summer BBQ or the Christmas event: Technical Services & Facilities ensures that everything is set up, functioning and safe. From erecting tents and stages to ensuring power supply and safety arrangements: they are always there.
Safety as a core principle
Synerlogic is a Seveso site, meaning strict safety requirements apply. Technical Services & Facilities works according to defined procedures to guarantee a safe working environment.
- All external contractors require a work permit. For tasks involving increased risk, a Task Risk Analysis is carried out: are the correct PPE being used? Is work with, for example, an aerial work platform being done safely?
- For activities on chemical pipelines, the Lock Out Tag Out Try Out (LOTOTO) method is applied. Pipelines are locked and checked before work begins. This is in addition to the Task Risk Analysis and is essential for safe operations.
- For specific tasks, only certified and specialised subcontractors who meet strict requirements are engaged.
Every change — whether to machines, processes or installations — is assessed via the Management of Change process. Technical Services & Facilities plays a key role here: from risk assessment to execution and documentation.
Close cooperation with the Emergency Response Team
Finally, there is a strong connection between Technical Services & Facilities and the Emergency Response Team. Three main Emergency Response Team officers are active within the team, ensuring short communication lines and swift, effective safety management on the work floor.
From urgent breakdowns to major projects, from safety to sustainability: Technical Services & Facilities is indispensable within Synerlogic. They combine technical expertise, problem‑solving ability and a sharp focus on safety. A team with real impact, where no day is the same and where the work truly makes a difference.
